LOCATION

Between the and , next to the very old Church of Santi Quirico e Giulitta, with its unmistakable Romanesque campanile, Hotel Forum is in a perfect spot for discovering the ancient wonders of Rome as well as the modern and elegant city of boutiques and shopping. From here you can start a fascinating walk along Via dei Fori Imperiali, right in front of the hotel, to see the history of the ancient city: Julius Caesar, Constantine, the Colosseum and Trajan's Column. In a monumental succession it is possible to see: the Forum of Caesar, the first after the Republican era; then Forum of Trajan, Forum of Augustus (right in front of Hotel Forum) and Forum Transitorium (also called the Forum of Nerva). Near the Grillo hill are the Markets of Trajan, with their unique semicircular structure. To the right of the Altare della Patria rises Trajan's column, a masterpiece of Roman sculpture. From here Via dei Fori Imperiali starts: on the left the Forum of Augustus continues with the Forum Transitorium, unmistakable with its grandiose columns called the Colonnacce. Just beyond on the right are the massive ruins of the Basilica di Massenzio or di Costantino where justice was once administered and business negotiated. A little further on the massive symbol of eternal Rome stands out: the Flavian Amphitheater, called the Colosseum starting in the later Middle Ages due to its majestic size. Hotel Forum is a good starting point for taking a walk to go shopping in the center's shops and boutiques set in beautiful scenery with the squares and fountains of papal Rome. Starting with Via del Corso, which begins in Piazza Venezia and continues until Piazza del Popolo: a long walk with primarily clothing, shoe and accessory stores; up to the exclusive boutiques of internationally renowned clothing and jewelry designers along Via Condotti, Via del Babuino and Piazza di Spagna. Antique fans and collectors should not miss browsing through the shops on Via Giulia, the prettiest street in Rome and those on charming Via Margutta.
